I have game pass 95% of the games that interest me will be on the service within a year. Not to mention when I play the game on game pass Its generally actually ready and patched. It makes no feasible sense for me to waste $60 (now $70 thanks to $ony) on a single unfinished usually broken upon release game.

Last games I preordered were Halo 5 and Battlefront II...

There's a lot of games I wish I could pre-order but I just cannot justify it when most of them are $100 aud. To me that's almost two weeks of groceries. Money is so tight, I always wait for things to go on sale. The only reason I purchased Hogwarts Legacy is because I had been saving Microsoft Rewards points and redeemed a $50 gift card.

We don't need to preorder games anymore. Most people just buy digital and that has an unlimited stock. I still buy all my games physical when I can and I never have a problem finding a copy when I get to the store on day one.

I've only preordered maybe three times? Most recent was REALLY recent: Sonic Frontiers. There was literally no reason to preorder though since the bonuses 90% of the time are some lame throw-in or something that intentionally makes the game easier. Preordering Frontiers just handed me a bunch of collectibles early. Yay, I guess. The only real reason I preordered was cuz of hype. I waited like 5 years for this game and its awesome.

Usually I only preorder if there is worthwhile bonus content provided for doing so. "Worthwhile" being the key word here...something like extra character skins is not worth it to me, I'm looking for more along the lines of how Dark Pictures does early access to the Curator's Cut mode if you've preordered. On verrrrrrrrrrrry rare occasions I will preorder something that I just NEED to be playing on day 1, like God of War Ragnarok, but this is only for my absolute top favorite games. I do not buy digital (unless it's an indie game that literally isn't available in a physical format), so preordering something that I want to have on day 1 guarantees that it will ship and arrive by the release date.

Only if it's a game that I've been looking forward to for a very long time. Even at that I don't actually pre-order most the time. It's usually a day one purchase.

Only if you get a pre order in game bonus

I already missed the poll, but I believe I pre-ordered maybe a dozen+ throughout my lifetime, starting near the end of PS3 era in 2013, I didn't pre-order anything prior to that. Those that certain or I believe to have pre-ordered were Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus (PS3), Lego Jurassic World (PS3), Resident Evil: Revelation 2 (PS3), Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back (PS4), Sonic Forces (PS4), Crackdown 3 (Xbox One), Days Gone (PS4), Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (Xbox One), Gears 5 (Xbox One), Concrete Genie (PS4), MediEvil (PS4), Journey to the Savage Planet (Xbox One), Destroy All Humans! (Xbox One), Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated (Xbox One), Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch), The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (Switch), Metroid Dread (Switch), Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Xbox One) and Sonic Colors Ultimate Edition (Xbox One).

Honestly I've enjoyed the vast majority of games I've pre-ordered, but I've kinda cut back on pre-ordering games for different reasons. Maybe I'll do it in the future, maybe I won't, who knows. I was planning on ordering Resident Evil 4, but there is no Deluxe Edition physical variant of the game like Resident Evil 2 remake, so I'm gonna buy that one later. I got stuff I need to buy on 3DS and Wii U anyway before March 23.

Theres no reason to pre-order anymore aside from collectibles. The biggest reasoin for pre-ordering back inb the day was due to availability issues. Games ran out of stock and had to be re-ordered. That doesnt happen anymore. Plus games seem to release broken and incomplete a lot more frequently.
