    Hello people,

I have a problem with the computer version of the Xbox app called "Xbox Console Companion". A few months/years ago I used the feature that allows us to stream our Xbox One on our computer. There's a button for it called "connection". But now I can't anymore, it says my computer's IP and the console's one might not be the same or both or one could not be up-to-date to be link together.

I tried to set that up, but I'm not a big computer expert, and I don't want to mess everything up by changing the IP or any other data.

Can someone help me step by step checking what's wrong and what to modify for it to work again? Can my VPN make some troubles as it is supposed to change the IP all the time?

    Thank you for your help.

Wow, thanks Baklava. Like some comments say overthere, the communication about that wasn't that clear or even known by the most of us.

I hate MS for making so many apps on computer, console or phone, we're lost, and the latest doesn't replace the old ones, so it accumulates and each has its own features. And most of them are dead now, after a short life.

Thanks for the infos, I succeeded streaming on my computer even with my console turned off (but as "idle"), wow!

Do you think the Companion app is still useful for anything now? We have the messenger of the Xbox app and the Xbox Bar app, and I don't see any other useful feature on it now. I kept it only from local streaming.

Oh I forgot, yesterday, no long after I created this thread, I had a message from MS saying that "from August 28th, the Companion app will not be considered anymore", certainly meaning "won't work anymore", as they redirect us to the other Xbox app.

I'll wait until the next day to uninstall it.
