Red Dead Redemption's John Marston VO keen to work with Rockstar again

By Tom West,

Red Dead Redemption's voice actor for John Marston, Rob Wiethoff, "would love" a chance to work with Rockstar again, according to a recent interview, whether that's "remastering something or something totally different."

During a recent interview with the YouTube channel, Dan Allen Gaming, the Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 voice actor for John Marston was asked about the potential for a remake of the original (thanks, Games Radar+), to which the actor replied "I would love for it to happen."

When the recent interview with Dan Allen Gaming turned towards a discussion about a potential Red Dead Redemption remake — which was recently rumoured to have been cancelled alongside Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 in favour of GTA 6 — Wiethoff was quick to sing Rockstar's praises, saying "I would love an opportunity to work with [Rockstar Games] again, whether it be remastering something or something totally different. I can't really say enough good things about Rockstar. If they do that, great, that would be awesome."

The recent announcement that Red Dead Redemption 2 won't be receiving any further major updates was brought up, though, to which Wiethoff offered: "I don't like that people aren't getting what they want," before continuing on to say: "I guess the other way you've got to look at it is that whatever it is Rockstar is doing, and you know that they're doing something huge — as they always do — whatever that is, you're going to fall in love with that too. You've just gotta be patient."
